  • Prekmurje

    Essentially defined by the Mura - a slow, meandering, lazy river - it is one of Slovenia's wine-growing regions and also the origin of one of the world's great cakes: Gibanica. Being flatter than most of the the country, it is great for biking.

Our shop is located at Slovenska street 23 in the centre of Ljubljana, right next door of Holy Trinity Church. Open: Mon-Sat 10-19, Sun 10-15.
Recipes

  • The best known traditional Slovenian desert is potica: baked from raised, rolled dough, it contains walnut, raisin or other filling. Other popular desserts are strudel and palacinke (thin pancakes, usually filled with jam or nuts).
